Things You Should Consider When Buying Graco Extend2Fit
The Graco Extend2Fit covers kids’ weight ranging from 22 pounds to 65 pounds. Well, I think this is already too much and would be enough for your kid until he’s 2 years old or even older. Don’t worry, as this car seat is said to last for a very long time, the expiration date found on the back of the seat says 10 years.
The base of the seat alone measures 15-inch by 15-inch. Though its overall dimension measures 24.5-inch by 19.5-inch by 25.2 inches. Well, this is already compact enough to fit in most vehicles, from suburban to a compact car. Graco has tested various types and car sizes and the result shows that this car seat fits quite well. As I already mentioned, the size is pretty compact that it will fit even a small vehicle. However, it will require a good amount of room to get the most of this seat. This means you might need to push forward the front passenger seat.
When it comes to weight, this car seat is 23.5 pounds. Well, this may seem a bit heavy, but of course, we don't want something extremely lightweight too.
Presenting Graco Extend2Fit
Graco Extend2fit is actually a convertible car seat that can be used by infants until they get to their toddler age. This only means you no longer have to buy a car seat when your child grows. Isn’t it a great benefit? You get to save so much money and storage space at home!
Unlike most car seats, this is not just a forward facing car seat but also a rear facing one. I know it can feel terrifying for a new parent to be placing his newborn baby in the car seat and get the car moving. But you can begin using this car seat while its rear facing in the car given that the baby is weighing 4 pounds or even more. He can ride rear facing until he reaches 50 pounds or 45 inches.
When your baby starts weighing about 22 pounds to 65 pounds, this means he's ready to graduate from a rear facing car seat. Since Graco Extend2Fit comes with extra legroom which most other car seats provide, you can simply just turn your baby around start forward facing the car seat.
This what makes this product great! It is so versatile that it can accommodate babies and toddlers in various shapes and sizes. Most of all, it comes with complete safety features. It has been installed with EPS energy foam for effective energy management during a collision. The product has been crash-tested and side-impact tested to meet the United States Safety Standard.
Features and Benefits
So let’s get to the main point of this Graco Extend2Fit Review. Why choose this car seat? What are the feature and benefits you get from this product? Let’s see below.
1. Extended Rear-Facing
When it comes to our little one, there’s nothing on our mind but his safety. So you should know that a rear-facing car seat would be the safest situation for every kid.
What’s great about Graco Extend2Fit is that unlike most car seats, it allows you to keep your child facing backward for a much longer time. The product says you can use rear facing up until your kid is 2 years or even older.
In fact, there are some Graco Extend2Fit users boasting that they are safely using the car seat until the age of 5. This is made possible since the car seat headrest, legroom and tilt are all adjustable. There's actually more than 5 inches of legroom that you can work with. I guess it is clear to you by now why they named it “Extend2Fit”.
Graco Extend2Fit has been designed with a steel reinforced frame, which provides strength and durability. You can totally expect better stability during your use of this car seat.
To some parents, it could be a struggle to leave the baby in the car seat, they often get scared and uncomfortable. I understand how stressful it could be to be driving to the grocery store with a screaming baby at the back. Fortunately, Graco Extend2Fit can help you solve this dilemma!
I wasn’t surprised at all upon knowing that this car seat has made several customers happy! All parents are claiming that their child is exceptionally comfortable in this safety gear that they even get to sleep within just a few minutes of the trip. Since Graco Extend2Fit provides plenty of soft paddings like side pads, shoulder pads, head and body inserts, we can be sure that your kid will be comfortable throughout the ride.
4. Easy to use
Imagine rethreading the harness straps just to move it up with your impatient baby screaming on the other hand! Well, this sounds like a big challenge. Fortunately, this product will spare you from this complication. The first time I used Graco Extend2Fit, I realized that it's not complicated to work with the car seat at all.
The key here is absolutely the product’s Simply Safe Adjust Harness System. I like how this feature allows you to adjust the harness and headrest’ height with just one quick motion. There’s no need to rethread the harness straps to do this. You can even easily adjust the crotch buckle to make sure your child is comfortable and safe enough.
This only means you can save so much time and from getting frustrated. Anything that makes things easier and quicker with your little one will absolutely be worth it.
Graco Extend2Fit’s reclining positions come in six options and 10 adjustable headrest positions, making it so convenient to use. This feature enables you to use four different reclining positions for rear facing.
I’m sure you’d appreciate the car seat’s harness storage feature too, which is totally fuss-free and helpful enough. After unbuckling the straps, you can just simply hook them into the harness storage and get your baby out in one quick movement.
It’s also great that this car seat is not gigantic enough! It won’t consume so much space in your car; it will leave you extra room for your baby’s essentials.
6. Easy to clean
The seat cover of Graco Extend2Fit are machine washable so you can quickly clean this car seat just in case it gets dirty.
7. Dual cup holders
Lastly, your baby gear would never be complete without some fancy amenity. The Graco Extend2Fit comes with dual cup holders perfect to hold bottles, sippy cups, and snack cups whenever you need these. Wouldn't it be great to keep a snack and drink handy for your kids during your long car ride? This will save you from a screaming baby getting bored with the whole trip!
What Other People Are Saying
So I searched the internet for some feedback from fellow Graco Extend2Fit users and here’s what I found.

“This car seat is a total game changer. My baby finds it super comfortable! I highly appreciate the cushion that it comes with as well as the shoulder pads, body and infant head inserts. I'm just so pleased with Graco Extend2Fit. It doesn't only look nice but my daughter seemed to find it very comfortable. Installation was fairly easy too, making me even happier. My daughter now is 10-month-old and weighing 16.5 pounds, the inserts help her feel cozy." - Heidi
Products Similar to Graco Extend2Fit
So to complete this Graco Extend2Fit Review, let us see below similar products from Graco.
If you will take a closer look, you will see that Graco Extend2Fit and Graco 4Ever are almost the same when it comes to their safety specs and features. The main difference is that Graco Extend2Fit has additional extension panel that provides 5-inches of extra legroom and comes with 3 position options. You will not find extension panel with the standard Graco 4ever.
Also, your kid can use Graco Extend2Fit longer, actually up to 25 pounds. With this, you can follow the highly recommended safety for kids, which is to ride rear-facing until they weigh 50 pounds.
Both Graco Extend2Fit and Graco MySize 65 were introduced to be a 2-in-1 convertible car seat, so this means both can be used not only as a rear-facing car seat but also as forward-facing with harness car seat.
However, the key difference is that Graco Extend2Fit comes with 3-extension panel feature which Graco MySize 65 doesn’t provide. Graco Extend2Fit offers additional leg room for your baby as they grow in the rear-facing mode.
Also, Graco Extend2Fit comes with 6 different recline positions and 10 adjustable headrest positions, Graco MySize 65 on the other hand only comes with 3 different recline positions and 8 adjustable headrest position. This is important because the more choices you have for recline positions, the more options your child can have for comfortable use.
Same with the first two products, you can’t find the three-position extension panel feature in Graco SlimFit. However, you can use this as High Back Belt-Positioning Booster, which you can’t with Graco Extend2Fit.
Graco SlimFit also comes with slimmer design compared to Graco Extend2Fit; hence the name. Graco SlimFit also features dual cup holder, but unlike Graco Extend2Fit, this can be easily rotated so you can save about 10% space on the back seat of your car.
However, Graco Extend2Fit is being offered at a lesser price. Between these two products, Graco Extend2Fit is the ideal choice if you're looking for a convertible car seat that can be used as forward-facing and rear-facing only.
I hoped you learned a lot today from my Graco Extend2Fit Review. I guess you'd agree with me when I say that this convertible car seat is among the best products on the market today. Isn't it impressive how it can give so many benefits to every parent with its user-friendly features?
